Grace and peace!
My name is Ricardo Barbosa, and I am currently a fourth-year seminary student. This blog was born out of a desire to share a vision: that anyone, with the right tools and the right books, can pursue a deep and robust theological education — without needing to enroll in expensive programs.
The goal here is not to take shortcuts, but to embrace the “hard way” — the rich, disciplined study of God’s Word and the treasures of the Christian tradition.
What you’ll find in this space is the outline of a theological program that anyone can follow at home. The focus will be:
- Biblical Languages – learning Greek and Hebrew to read the Scriptures in their original form.
- Hermeneutics – developing sound methods for interpretation.
- Study Methods – practical tools for disciplined, fruitful study.
- Church Confessions & Catechisms – engaging with the historic faith of the Church.
- Church History – understanding the story of God’s people through the ages.
All of this is aimed at one ultimate goal: to experience the Scriptures as deeply as possible, with clarity of mind and devotion of heart.
If you are longing for a path that takes the Bible seriously, that values the wisdom of the past, and that invites you into the lifelong pursuit of truth, then I hope you will join me here.
Welcome to Theology the Hard Way. May this be a resource and encouragement for your own journey into the riches of God’s Word.
